Project Model is a photo project that allows me to connect with women from all walks of life and collaborate to create beautiful images. The idea subject has spent very little time in front of the camera but would like the opportunity to shine. Experience is not required nor are any specific physical attributes. What I look for as a photographer is just someone that piques my creative curiosity.
My name is Anthony Maurice and I’ve been a photographer for 8 years. As a portrait photographer I’ve had the privilege to photograph people from all walks of life and vary unique backgrounds. One thing that became common is that all of the people who reached out to inquire about my services, were women. As a move to network with more woman and increase my client base I began enlisting models whom had never stepped foot in front of a camera before. Seeing their reactions to the photos we created together became infectious and this is when I got the idea for Project Model.
Society has told us for decades that you have to look a certain way to be a model and I never believed this to be true. I had thousands of images taken over the years that proved this to be false. No matter if the woman was a college student or a stay-at-home mom, in my eyes they were all models. Walking down a runway doesn’t make you a model. Having the guts to step in front of a camera show the real YOU, is what makes you a model.
